1. First download OS X Recovery Disk Assistant software from that link.
2. Install the downloaded software.
3. Plug your USB into free port of your mac.
4. Now double click on the icon of installed software (which you can find at desktop usually) and point the drive of which you want to make backup. In this case you have to select your mac OS drive. It will take several minutes to finish the process.

After that whenever your mac Os fails you can recover your OS by simply plug in your USB into your mac and boot your system.
